VU2SWS, YL Sarla licenced since 1996. She was part of the AT0EI, AT0BI, and AT0RI island expeditions. She is an avid dxer and enjoys tackling pileups. She operates SSB and digital modes. She is an avid contester and takes partin them for the sheer pleasure of the excitement associated with contests. She was part of the W1AW/5 station in Texas for the IARU WW contest in 2002. She is the vice president of the Amateur Radio Society of India and also the liaison officer for the IARU in India.
